With a career spanning over 25 years in social services—from advocating for the homeless in Santa Monica to serving as the Director of the Mayor’s Office on Homelessness in San Francisco—Terry has spent his life listening to the voices of the overlooked. It is this deep well of empathy and real-world experience that breathes life into his provocative, high-stakes fiction.

Terry’s literary journey took the world by storm with the Sunday Morning Trilogy. What began as a local sensation quickly became a global mainstay; today, his books are held in over 10,000 libraries from the U.S. to New Zealand. A native of Southern California and a proud alumnus of Cal State Los Angeles, Terry now calls Oakland home.
