Meet the Author
Terry Hill believes that the best stories are found where the public eye rarely wanders. With a career spanning over 25 years in social services—from advocating for the homeless in Santa Monica to serving as the Director of the Mayor’s Office on Homelessness in San Francisco—Terry has spent his life listening to the voices of the overlooked. It is this deep well of empathy and real-world experience that breathes life into his provocative, high-stakes fiction.
Terry’s literary journey took the world by storm with the Sunday Morning Trilogy. What began as a local sensation quickly became a global mainstay; today, his books are held in over 10,000 libraries from the U.S. to New Zealand. Critics and fans alike have compared his storytelling to the late E. Lynn Harris, noting his unique ability to stir national conversations through the lens of urban drama and political intrigue.
Whether he is exploring the secret machinations of The Committee or the complex legacies of the Sunday Morning Saga, Terry writes for the "loyal audience" that has stood by him since 2012. His work has been celebrated by BET.com, Crème Magazine, and the AALBC, yet his greatest reward remains the "one more chapter" messages he receives from readers across the globe.
A native of Southern California and a proud alumnus of Cal State Los Angeles, Terry now calls Oakland home. He shares his life with his partner, Scot Harrison, and their two spirited dogs, Baldwin and Picasso. When he isn’t at his desk crafting his next saga, you can find him drawing inspiration from the vibrant culture of the Bay Area.
